Gordon Smith-Gander
Gordon is a commercial strategist and operations executive with a diverse background spanning logistics, mining services, recycling, and innovation-led ventures across Western Australia. He has spent the past 15 years building businesses from the ground up, leading operational turnarounds, and delivering commercial outcomes across both private and early-stage companies.
At Sandfire Consulting, Gordon supports founders, boards, and executive teams in navigating complexity, accessing non-dilutive capital, and implementing scalable corporate structures. He brings deep experience in stabilising operations and driving growth across both metro and regional markets, including WA’s South West.
Gordon is also the co-founder of Overlander Capital and has founded and exited businesses in the transport, industrial, and technology sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Management) from the University of Notre Dame Australia.

Angus Henderson
Angus is a corporate lawyer and strategic advisor with over a decade of experience advising clients on capital structuring, M&A, equity and debt financing, and innovation-driven growth. He has worked with founders, scaling businesses, and listed companies across the technology, mining, and industrial sectors.
At Sandfire Consulting, Angus provides clear, practical advice on corporate structuring, capital strategy, and commercial execution. He draws on his legal background and founder experience to guide high-growth ventures from early-stage funding through to commercialisation and exit.
Angus is also co-founder of Overlander Capital, and previously founded AGH Law before launching Luma Legal, a boutique corporate law firm based in Perth. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Finance & Investment Finance) from the University of Western Australia.

Mark Upton
Mark is a recognised expert in commercialisation and innovation funding, with over 15 years’ experience advising clients across the resources, agriculture, and emerging technology sectors. He was formerly the national lead of Deloitte’s Gi³ (Government Grants, Incentives & Innovation) practice.
At Sandfire Consulting, Mark helps clients unlock non-dilutive capital and design effective R&D and government funding strategies. He is highly regarded for his technical knowledge, analytical approach, and ability to deliver compliant, commercial outcomes across complex projects.
Mark’s experience spans both startups and large corporates, and he brings a strategic, execution-focused mindset to every engagement. He works closely with clients to align funding with growth and build lasting value through innovation.
